Bike Barn acquires ACME Bicycle

Bike Barn has acquired ACME Bicycle Co. and now operates six stores in the greater Houston area.

Bike Barn, which is Houston’s largest independently owned bicycle dealer, acquired the Katy-based retailer’s 15,000-square-foot retail center located at 629 South Mason Road for an undisclosed sum.

easy riders to Team up for Bike to the Beach Event to Fight MS

easys Tapas & Martinis to sponsor the “easy riders” cycling team to ride in the Valero MS 150 Bike to the Beach on October 20-21, 2007. The bike tour is a two-day cycling adventure from San Antonio to Corpus Christi that raises funds to benefit The National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Beaumont, Texas (PRWEB) June 2, 2007 — Calling all cyclists - easys tapas & martinis is inviting anyone up for the challenge of an amazing bike tour for a good cause to join their sponsored team, the “easy riders,” to participate in the Valero MS 150 Bike to the Beach. The bike tour is a two-day cycling adventure from San Antonio to Corpus Christi that raises funds to help people living with multiple sclerosis (MS), and will be held Oct. 20-21.

An easy riders kick-off party will be held on Thursday, June 14 at 7 p.m. at easys, 2325 Calder in Beaumont. The party will serve to recruit cycling team members, from beginners to active cyclists, and raise funds to support the bike tour and the The National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Tour of the Peanut Country - Gorman, TX

The 8th Annual “Tour of the Peanut Country” begins in the quaint downtown Gorman City Park. Pick one of five routs of your choice that will have you traveling through the scenic farming country of Eastland County. The scenery will generally be rolling hills and the curves along farm to market roads or shouldered state highways. The ride will start at 8:00 a.m. with no starts later than 9:00 a.m. The course will close at 2:00 p.m.

There will be frequent rest stops stocked with water, Gatoraid, snacks, fresh fruits and more. Sag wagons will be available should you have any medical trouble or need medical assistance.

Cow Creek Country Classic Bike Ride - Waxahachie, TX

7:30 AM start time, at the Waxahachie High School on Highway 77 North and High School Drive.

The ride is not a race, and will consist of 10, 19, 36, 46, 75 and 100 mile tours on a well marked course.
The 10 mile is a leisurely in-town tour of historic Waxahachie, with unique ā€œGingerbread Homesā€? and ā€œNational Historical Register Landmarksā€?, such as the octagon-shaped Chautauqua Auditorium in Getzendaner Park and the Ellis County Courthouse. All ages can participate with confidence of a safe ride. This years in town ride will also utilize part of the new Hike ā€˜n Bike Trail that Waxahachie has opened, the ride will also go through the downtown area and if you want you may stop and eat or shop in the many antiques and arts & crafts shops around the square. This is an ideal ride for beginners, children and families seeking a fun morning together.
The 19, 36, and 46 mile tours go through some very beautiful, scenic parts of Ellis County.
