Texas Festival Frolic Bike Tour - Seguin, TX

July 25, 2007 By: Rick Ankrum Category: Calendar

September 27, 2007 8:00 amtoOctober 6, 2007 2:00 pm

Beginning and ending in Seguin at the Guadalupe County Fair Grounds, the Hill Country Bicycle Club-sponsored “Texas Festival Frolic Bike Tour navigates through small town Texas this fall, September 27 through October 6th.

This self-led, 10-day tour visits two small-town Texas festivals on consecutive weekends, with the “Kolache Festival in Hallettsville being first on the agenda. The week between is spent cycling over flat coastal roads to the town of Palacios, with its historic Luther Hotel, and then, Goliad with its 18th century mission and fortress and historic old town square. The second weekend, we enjoy the “Come and Take It celebration in Gonzales, another town steeped in Texas history.

Gentle coastal breezes and some table-top smooth, minimally-traveled roads make for idyllic cycling conditions. Coupled with several museum (and brewery!) visits, it makes for an unusual, interesting and educational bike tour. Come join us!
