Tour de Goatneck – Cleburne, TX

The Goatneck Bike ride is a rolling hill course which averages around 35 feet per mile of climbing.  Click on the Directions tab and go to the Routes layout page for (69.5, 41, & 27) that provides elevation maps. The roads are well maintained country roads with little traffic. The prevailing winds during this time of year are from the southwest, which provides a tail wind for the last portion of the ride coming into the finish!  We provide rest stops every 8-9 miles on all courses.

Last year we had close to 2,500 riders.  We provide showers at the finish in the Cleburne High School basketball locker rooms, located in the gym registration area.

In an effort to keep our ride prices down and provide as low a cost ride as possible, we are not able to provide a meal afterward.  All money raised goes to various Johnson County charities.  Last year we were able to donate over $30,000 to local charities because of the participation of the riders.

Packets may be picked up July 23rd – July 29th during regular business hours at the Fort Worth Cycling & Fitness Center, (817) 244-7911  (817) 244-7911 or Friday, July, 30th, 6 – 8:00 p.m. & Saturday, July 31st, 6 – 8:00 a.m. at Cleburne High School.

The ride will start Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m., July 31st, 2010.

Great ride. Did the 70 miler. Very well organized and supported. Registration was very fast. Excellent signage. Good rest stops. Start was great. Could have used a somewhat more formal finish line. A bit too much chip seal for my taste, but I don’t think the ride organizers could have repaved. Wish they had provided a few more clouds! It was realy nice to be able to take a shower at the end. A lot of positive comraderie among the riders. Excellent experience.

  • Thanks for the ride feedback. I see this ride each year and think one year I am going to try it. To drive from Houston is not impossible but there needs to be a real tug to draw me. I will going to the HHH the end of August so diving a long distance requires extra effort , and money.
