Last Sunday’s Síclovía, the mass ride that brought 15,000 people to bicycle, skateboard, and jog down a four-mile stretch of Broadway for four hours while autos were rerouted, was the first SA edition of the international ciclovía movement (Spanish for “bike path”), a fresh-air party celebrating fitness through human-powered transportation. Riding bicycles is like trying on masks at the Spirit of Halloween Store. I have a serious case of bike lust, and to satiate my bike lust I have a semi-permanent collection of bicycles to peruse and try on to suit my daily whims. A fixie for the days when I wanna feel hip around town, a thick wheeled mountain bike when I wanna rub elbows with the dirt, a cargo bike that can transport up…

This year, the HOT is taking on a new format. The previous HOT rallies were Catrike exclusive events. Our other laid back friends wanted in on the fun, so we said “Y’all come.” This year we are switching over from a small affair to a big party. All bents are welcome! If you love recumbent triking and biking then come goof around with those who share your addiction.
