Today’s ride had a different purpose from the vast majority of my rides: get me out of the dog house. I mistakenly put an envelope in the recycle bin that should not have went there. So I rode to Humble to the recycle bin at church to retrieve the envelope. I have not bike this route in over ten years because of the increased traffic and construction but I planned the route as much as possible and began. Traffic was mild probably because it is Sunday but the headwind was tough. Scattered clouds, 91 degrees and a 16 mph south wind made the ride challenging going but the return was much easier with that tailwind.

Normally on Sunday I ride about 25 miles but today the miles were 19.33 with an average speed of 14.1 mph. Maximum speed was 22.1 mph and my average cadence 78.6 rpm.

To sum up the week my miles are 157.69, May miles 469.83 and year to date miles 1972.50. There are six riding days left in May so my goal of 650 miles looks possible. No rain is forecast in that time either which is very bad.

$20 early registration; $25 after 1/31; $35 day of event
Corporate Riders
(a minimum of 20 registered riders for discount rate)- $15 early registration; $20 after 1/31;
Corporate Riders have to register together all at once. $25 day of event.

The American Red Cross and ModSpace are happy to announce that there is now a “mini” tour, a one day ride, available. On Sunday May 3, Day One of Six Ride cyclists join the full tour for the 82 mile ride from Humble to Beaumont. The Day One of Six Ride will receive the same support as the full tour. Transportation back from Beaumont for rider and bike is offered for a small fee. Enjoy a great ride and support the American Red Cross at the same time.
