Setting a goal can motivate me but if I reach the goal then I lose some of the motivation. I think that happened with January’s goal of 300 miles. I reached it last week and when the weather cooled down some I stayed off the bike. today the weather warmed up from last week and I got back on the bike and rode the “New Caney – Tavola – Valley Ranch” route for a total of 34.4 miles<\/strong>. I was waiting on the nice weather to return and it looks like the next few days will be in the 70’s. With today’s bike ride I am up to 379.93 miles<\/strong> for January and with one more potential riding day I could hit 400+ miles.<\/p>\n

The wind required extra effort when the ride turned back to the south at Roman Forest Blvd. Biking through Valley Ranch I stopped at the fountain and took these pictures.<\/p>\n

The clear blue sky shows how gorgeous the weather was. The first picture shows Valley Ranch with the logos of the stores open or opening soon in the Town Center shopping area. So far the traffic is not bad on Valley Ranch Parkway behind the stores. The lake and fountain are featured and when the wind is blowing strong the mist from the fountain can be felt on the street.<\/p>\n

No other bicyclist out today while I rode the route. They missed some great weather.<\/p>\n
