Yesterday I said I wouldn’t ride today but the warm weather won me over. Later this month 80+ degree days might be few and far between. I wanted to leave around 8:30 AM but the fog was slow in lifting so I held off until 9:59 AM. By then it was above the trees and the temperature was 75 with some sun shining through. I figured it wouldn’t take too long to burn off the fog. Because I wasn’t sure about the temperature getting to 80 before I finished the ride I put a long sleeve jersey under the University of Cincinnati short sleeve jersey. For about 5 miles that was okay but as the sun increased I thought about taking the long sleeve one off but didn’t.<\/p>\n
Last November I biked 360+ miles<\/strong> so I want to at least go that many this year. With today’s 34.4 mile<\/strong>s I am at 95 miles<\/strong> so I think I am on track. Today’s ride followed my “Atascocita South – Walden – Huffman” route. During the ride I saw two other cyclists, one in Kings Forest and the other on Old Atascocita Road.<\/p>\n Later as I rode east of Lake Houston I noticed some of the roads were damp from rain so my fog delay probably kept me from riding in the rain.<\/p>\n A quick stop at the Huffman Chevron for ice and water was the only one during the ride.<\/p>\n I am pretty sure I won’t bike on Sunday because I want to watch the Texans game. The weather forecast calls for 87 degrees though.<\/p>\n
