A neighborhood watch group bought a new bicycle for a local Dairy Queen employee after he posted online that his was stolen from his front porch and it was his only way to get to work.<\/p>\n<p>James Penadela, 63, lost his job and his car at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic but he\u2019s been able to work at the Robinson Dairy Queen for the last few months by riding his bike.<\/p>\n<p>When he woke up on Wednesday, June 1, he immediately realized the bike he depends on was gone.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI said to my roommate, \u2018where\u2019s my bike? The program will be based out of a senior center adjacent to a BCycle bike share station. This mini-grant will allow interested participants to gain familiarity with the BCycle system and access their fleet of two-wheeled, electric-assist bicycles. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8230; Wheels to Work | $7,000\nHouston Bike Share, Houston, TX<\/p>\n<p>Modeled on Indego bike share\u2019s Wheels to Work program in Philadelphia, this mini-grant will support employment and increase health and mobility through bike share. Houston Bike Share will work directly with New Hope Housing\u2019s Harrisburg location to combine services such as resume writing and soft skills classes alongside bike share system training and bike safety. All together, riders have helped raise nearly 13 million dollars, pedaled more than 5.7 million collective miles, and impacted countless lives.<\/p>\n<p>More than 45 students from the University of Texas at Austin will return to Alaska this summer. The two routes for Texas 4000 include both the Sierra and Ozarks.
