He was 41.<\/p>\n<p>According to the San Antonio Police Department, officers responded to the scene around 3 a.m. after a passerby noticed a man lying in the road in the 6400 block of IH-35 access road on the city\u2019s Northeast Side. The person also saw a bike on the road and called 911.<\/p>\n<p>Both police officers and the San Antonio Fire Department responded to the scene. In 2019 we finished the season with the lowest levels of bicycle inventory in decades, making it the first year since the Great Recession without prolonged and painful discounting of in-season models &#8230; not to mention the weakest year for U.S. bicycle imports since 1982. (Note these figures do not include burgeoning sales of e-bikes, which are counted under different import codes.)<\/p>\n<p>When the first wave of COVID hit in March of 2020. Suppliers scrambled to cancel orders from factories in anticipation of fewer riders during &quot;shelter in place&quot; programs. But soon enough, retailers noticed the opposite effect: customers \u2014 many of whom hadn&#8217;t set foot in a bike shop in years \u2014 were discovering that cycling could be a fun and healthy alternative to public transportation, or just a great way to get outdoors without involving large groups of people. An interactive map also allows input on participants\u2019 favorite trail destinations that might be on wayfinding signage.<\/p>\n<p>Voting continues until June 20.<\/p>\n<p>The 60-mile-plus trail will connect downtown Fort Worth, Arlington, Grand Prairie, Irving, and downtown Dallas. The five cities have been partners with the North Central Texas Council of Governments to fund, design, and construct various trail segments for almost a decade. The final &#8230;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chron.com\/news\/houston-texas\/transportation\/article\/houston-bike-lane-sweeping-public-works-17238952.php\">Houston&#8217;s bike lanes are getting dirty\u2014and dangerous. Jordan | www.chron.com<\/h4>\n<p>It&#8217;s currently up to volunteers and 311 callers to make sure Houston&#8217;s bike lanes get swept.<\/p>\n<p>Building out Houston&#8217;s soon-to-be sprawling network of protected bike lanes has been a priority for city leaders since the city&#8217;s bike plan was adopted back in 2017. Keeping them clean, however, is a different story.<\/p>\n<p>Debris kicked to the side of Houston&#8217;s major roads, including broken glass from car crashes, is routinely swept up by several full-sized street sweepers contracted by the city\u2014and filth in the bike lanes that aren&#8217;t protected, like those along Weslayan Street in Upper Kirby, is typically swept up in these machines.
