A petition with more than 600 signatures calls for safer bike lanes across the city.<\/p>\n

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas \u2014 In response to the release of the City’s proposed budget, one local woman raised concerns over what was not included.<\/p>\n

It is an issue Shirin Delsooz said she brought to the city’s attention about a year ago, and felt it still hasn’t been addressed in budget talks.<\/p>\n

"I don’t know why they totally ignored my 625 signature petition," said Delsooz, a cyclist advocate.<\/p>\n

Air Alliance Houston is setting up riders with bikes equipped with air monitors that detect volatile organic compounds, nitrogen dioxides and particulate matter that can affect residents\u2019 health.<\/p>\n

The effects can currently be seen in residents of the area, according to the alliance.<\/p>\n
