PAPD: Man killed in hit-and-run while riding his bicycle

A 76-year-old man died Thursday evening after he was struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle, according to information from the Port Arthur Police Department.
At approximately 6:58 p.m. officials responded to a call in reference to a man who was struck by a vehicle in the 2300 block of Memorial Boulevard.
Initial reports indicate that the vehicle was traveling north and struck the man who was riding his bicycle across the roadway. The vehicle then left the scene.
The victim was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Several very steep hills slowed me down along with a general fear of the wild pigs I saw during the day. No wild camping outside of a regular campground tonight! The next campground I could find is 50+ miles away.
