Texbiker.net Posted on July 27, 2010 by Rick AnkrumJuly 27, 2010

Recently there have been a number of comments about the Bike Around Midlothian bike ride. This got me to thinking about what do I look for in a bike ride. There are many rides I look forward to and there … Continue reading →

Texbiker.net Posted on January 5, 2010 by Rick AnkrumJanuary 5, 2010

With the weather turning cold and no daylight when I get home the last resort is the trusty Cyclops windtrainer. Thanks to my recently purchased Garmin Edge 305 with cadence I am able to record information I only dreamed about. … Continue reading →

Two Days into 2010

Texbiker.net Posted on January 4, 2010 by Rick AnkrumJanuary 4, 2010

I pressed hard to ride the first two days of 2010. My wimpy cut-off temperature of 60 degrees was never reached so I bundled up and hit the road with my Garmin Edge 305 recording my timid efforts. Friday was … Continue reading →

674 riders took to the start line (about the average number). I met a couple of brothers (Dickson was their last name) from Huntsville who are frequent visitors to the Texbiker.net website. We talked about various rides. I had brought … Continue reading →

About Texbiker.net

Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.
