Salvation Army team assembles Angel Tree bikes

TYLER, TX (KLTV) – More than 500 Salvation Army Angels were adopted Monday. That still leaves more than 300 on the tree at the Broadway Square Mall. And as donations come in, there’s a group working hard to assemble them.
The Salvation Army says the most popular gift every year on the tree is bicycles. Most bicycles are bought in a box, so it’s up to a group East Texas volunteers to put them together.

CORSICANA, Texas (KWTX) Charges won’t be filed against the driver of a pickup truck that struck and killed a well-known Central Texas cyclist, Department of Public Safety Staff Sgt. Sara Warren said Monday in a brief press release.
Missy Hardeman, 34, of Hubbard, was riding her bicycle west on FM 709 just off Highway 31 near Dawson at around 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 23 when a 1998 Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by Kristen Henley Ramos, 48, struck her.
