Bicyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash in Haltom City

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office is still working to identify a bicyclist who died in a hit and run early Thursday morning.
It’s believed the woman is about 55 years old, but she didn’t have any identification on her at the time of the accident and was riding alone, according to Haltom City Police. The woman died at the scene near where she was struck. …

SANTA FE, TX (KTRK) — Santa Fe police have recovered a pickup truck believed to have struck and killed a teenager on a bicycle Thursday night. The driver has yet to be found and questioned.

The board is pleased to announce that the Wheelmen will be hosting its own annual fund raising ride commencing in the fall of 2016!
After deciding that we should conduct an annual ride, we concluded that our event should be tied to a worthwhile cause. We are pairing with Each One Teach One of San Antonio, a non-profit adult literacy program whose mission is to “improve the literacy levels of San Antonio’s adult population through individualized curricula and one-on-one tutoring”.

Tired Legs After All Those Riding Days in a Row

20 consecutive days biking finally takes it toll. My legs weren’t power enough to overcome the ENE 9 mph wind on the “Atascocita – Huffman” route. Once I reached Huffman and took a short 20 minute break (I needed to get home by 12:45) going west the wind helped my tired legs and I raised my average speed from a weak 13.9 to a somewhat satisfying 14.1 mph. Over the 29.76 mile ride whenever I came to an incline I bogged down to 11 or 12 mph with no power. I think it is time for a recovery day.

The weather felt a tiny bit cooler when I left home at 10:06 ( I should’ve left an hour earlier) and this was reflected when I took these screenshots in Huffman during the rest stop at 18.2 miles.

I haven’t seen 88 degrees at noon in many many weeks. By the time I got home at 12:49 though it warmed up a few degrees.

Police identify person of interest in teen’s killing

Police say they have a person-of-interest in their investigation into the hit-and-run death of a 16-year-old boy Thursday night.
The incident occurred about 11 p.m. on FM 646 North.
The boy was reportedly hit by a pickup driver while he was riding his bicycle. The driver apparently fled the scene.
Santa Fe Police announce late Friday afternoon that they have a person-of-interest in the incident, but did not name a suspect.
