WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – The annual Hotter’N Hell 100 is over a month away and one local cyclist is getting ready to make her debut.
Bella Anderson has ten weeks and over 500 miles and counting to get ready for the 100 mile race. Anderson said she doesn’t have too many nerves since she’ll be participating with some of her family.
“I’m riding with my father in law and my brother in law,” said Anderson. “My brother in law has done it before so that kind of gives me a little bit of peace. WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – The hottest bike ride of the summer is right around the corner, and work to get everything ready is already in full swing.
Organizers of the Hotter’N Hell Hundred said one issue the event is trying to overcome this year is getting kids involved.
Chip Filer, the executive director for HHH says it’s because their regular riders are starting to age out, so four years ago they decided to provide coupons to families that would allow kids 12 and under to participate in 10K endurance ride for free.

Funding for Mingo Road and Trails Recommended by Citizen Bond Committee
Denton’s Special Citizen Bond Advisory Committee wrapped up on July 11. Among other projects, the committee recommended $15 million for trails and $35 million for Mingo Road to install additional quiet zones at railroad crossings, add a third car lane, drainage infrastructure and bicycle and pedestrian accommodations. …

It’s been happening every summer since 2013. A horde of out-of-town bicyclists descend into town to raise funds for the battle against multiple sclerosis (MS).The annual Bike MS: Cactus and Crude Ride 2023 brought about 150 bicyclists to town over the weekend. One of their main objectives, besides seeing the sights and raising funds for a cause, was to travel the 75 miles through back roads from Midland to Forrest Park in one day. They continued the following day pedaling another 75 miles of back roads to Lubbock.MS damages myelin, the protective covering around nerves. It causes mobility issues, along …
