A highly cosmopolitan new cafe is coming to the Dallas Design District that’ll bring food, bicycles, and epic coffee together in one place. Called The Meteor, it’s a concept with locations in Austin and Bentonville, and it’s opening in Dallas in late summer at 1930 Hi Line Dr.

HOUSTON – Houston and Harris County residents and lawmakers gathered Sunday morning to remember the historic trails freed slaves crossed after learning slavery ended on June 19, 1865.
While the national holiday we know now as Juneteenth, is days away, Harris Co. Commissioner Rodney Ellis hosted the fourth annual Emancipation Trail Bike Ride, which covers the route freedmen and women traveled from Galveston to Houston.
"I will be proud to ride alongside other elected officials, activists, and community members as I reflect on how far we’ve come as a county," Commissioner Ellis said ahead of the race. "We will cover 60 miles across two counties on one of only two historic trails in the nation that celebrates Black history. We will retrace the path taken by formerly enslaved people as they walked to freedom." …

The Alligator Creek Hike & Bike Trail project in Conroe will be pushed to fiscal year 2024-25, pending grant funding.
City Council members discussed the project during a June 6 special meeting regarding the capital improvement program, or CIP, budget. The shared-use pedestrian and bike path was ultimately postponed to save money in this year’s upcoming budget.
Community Impact previously reported the project would include an 8- to 10-foot-wide shared-use path as well as a 14-foot-wide pedestrian and bike bridge.
