Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.

Ride Only pricing begins at $55.00. Ride and Float pricing begins at $75.00.

Brief Description
It’s riding your bike in the beautiful Texas hill country. It’s taking a load off for some music and Texas BBQ. It’s relaxing and floating the Guadalupe River with your friends and family. Shammies ‘N Koozies – Ride & Float combines these summer pastimes and provides fitness and fun rolled into one event! Choose a 25*, 50 or 60 mile, fully supported bike ride from Wimberley to New Braunfels’ famous Rockin ‘R River Rides. *25 mile ride will begin AND end at the Rockin ‘R.

25 Mile Ride Details
The 25 mile ride will begin AND end at the Rockin ‘R River Rides in New Braunfels. A start time for this ride will be finalized in January with a likely start being between 8:00am and 9:00am.

Shuttle Back to Wimberley Start
Riders can take a shuttle back to the start in Wimberley (be sure to sign up for this on the registration form for an additional $20 fee before 5/30/11). Bikes will be carefully loaded on trucks and returned to Wimberley as well.

Extra Toobs
Purchase extra toobs for additional toobers who meet you after the ride (or coolers). The cost of the extra toobs when you register is $10.00 per toob. If you wait until event day, they can be rented directly from Rockin’ R at a higher rate.

Group Discounts?
In light of many requests, we will be offering a group discount in ’11, which is available for groups with 10 or more riders. Please email info@shammiesnkoozies.com for additional information.

Brief Description
Welcome to the Tour d’Temple 100K. It will be an exciting and challenging tour through beautiful Bell County. Routes have been chosen for their scenic beauty and safety while providing a challenging ride for all levels. Ride start is at the Cultural Activities Center (CAC) just off IH-35, approximately 30 miles South of Waco and 70 miles North of Austin. Highway signs will direct you to the complex.

Registration Fees
12 hour competitive – $100 until 5/14/11, $120 thereafter
24 hour competitive – $125 until 5/14/11, $145 thereafter
Non-competitive – $40 until 5/14/11; $60 thereafter
Ghost Rider – $24 through 5/27/11

Additional Information
Specifics:
A noncompetitive team may be made up of an unlimited number of riders. A competitive team may be made up of 2 or 4 person teams.
NOTE:The last day to register for ALL categories is May 27, 2011.

What is Provided?
* Campsite for Team – Restrooms with Showers
* Goodie Bag – T-Shirt
* 2 Meals – Bike Repair Area
* Stocked Rest Area – Various Prizes

Awards
* Top Fundraiser – Largest Team
* Red Eye Rider – Rider who leads the first lap
