Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.

Sunday, March 6th:  Wheels down at 9:00.  Meet at the Park and Ride on hwy. 16 south and loop 1604 across from Bill Millers.  Ride is approximately 35 miles over mostly flat to gently rolling hills with light traffic on back country roads and on main roads with wide shoulders.  Lunch afterward at Benjamin’s for the best homemade tortillas.  For information contact ride leaders Diana Valdez at 535-3373 or Randy Frazier at 237-8740.

Brief Description
Some 500 riders will follow routes ranging from 5-100 miles on Saturday April 30th, 2011. Routes begin and end at OLPH school in Selma. RIders will go through NE San Antonio, Schertz, Garden Ridge, Cibolo and surrounding areas. This is a ride for all levels and will be fully supported with rest stops, SAG vehicles and medical personnel.
