About Texbiker.net

Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.

Cow Patty Classic 4th Annual Benefit Bike Ride
Saturday, April 09, 2011
200 South Vista Ridge Blvd.  Cedar Park, Texas
Online Registration
Due to the support we provide, this is an excellent ride for beginners and experts alike and is a perfect training ride for the BP MS-150. Enjoy outstanding views of the Texas Hill country. This is a benefit ride, where all proceeds go to support the youth of the Vista Ridge FFA through scholarship, sponsor support, student development and community involvement.

The Cow Patty Classic is a fully supported ride for cyclists at any stage of training with multiple rest stops (with snacks & sports drinks), clear directional signage, mobile bicycle mechanics and dedicated volunteers to assist you on ride day. We’ve also added an end of ride BBQ included for all registered cyclists. And of course, don’t forget the complimentary ride t-shirt and goodie bag!

The t-shirt will of course include our dear friend, Cow Patty, but this year she will be in a supporting role. Inspired by the huge success of the design for our Fall sister ride, the Half Calf, we’re happy to announce a redesign of the Cow Patty Classic art that we’re sure everyone will enjoy! T-shirts and goodie bags can only be guaranteed for those who register online by April 1st, 2011. After that date, they will be available on a first come, first serve basis.

We’re also very excited that our sponsor partner, AJ’s Cyclery, has very generously donated a road bike for raffle this year.* Raffle tickets will be sold for $5.00 each or 5 for $20.00. Be sure to get in on a chance to win this fabulous bike! To view a picture of the bike for raffle, please visit our official ride website at www.vrffaalumni.com/bike_ride.

All routes will have a stagger start beginning at 8:00 AM. Pre-registered cyclist check-in will begin at 7:00 AM. On-site Registration will begin at 6:30 AM. Entry fees are $30.00 per cyclist registered by April 1st, 2011. $35.00 per cyclist registered after April 1st. Cyclists can register the day of the ride for a $40.00 registration fee.

Pre-Registered Cyclist Packet Pick-Up (including goodie bag, t-shirt, cyclist bib and route map) for those registered by April 1st, 2011 will be available beginning Saturday, April 2nd through Friday, April 8th at AJ’s Cyclery on Parmer Lane. See the AJ’s Cyclery website for location and hours of operation. www.ajcyclery.com. Those registered after April 1st can pick up their packets the day of the event at Pre-Registered Cyclist Check-In.

We look forward to seeing you on April 9th! Please feel free to email us with any questions or comments at vrffaalumni@gmail.com.

*Road Bike for raffle will be awarded at the conclusion of ride*
