About Texbiker.net

Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.

If January had a cycling related month, it would be national indoor trainer month.  Here in Houston, I put more time on this torture machine in January than any other month.  I shouldn’t complain, other people have it much worse. Here we are blessed with occasional bibs and jersey only weather, any month of the year.  But there are…

Video Report Bike Through the Forest and The Hills Bike Ride 1/29/2011

Texbiker.net Posted on January 30, 2011 by Rick AnkrumJanuary 30, 2011

The report I posted yesterday was rather long and I did not have time to edit the video I took. Today I finished the video editing (not that hard with a FlipCam) and posted to Youtube.com.

Since I wrote the ride report I found another hole in my rear tire tube from the wire. It seems to have went through the tube two times. I am still not figuring out where this tiny wire comes from along the road. Because the holes are on opposite sides of the tube in the same place I replaced the tube rather than try to patch it.

The weather has been light rain today so no recovery bike ride today.
