Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.

SMOKIN’ SPOKES BIKE RIDE is a Texas bike ride event sponsored by the Salado Texas Volunteer Fire Department. Expect challenging hills, scenic views, a monster century, well-marked routes, well-manned rest stops, friendly event sponsors and a great feed at the end of the ride.
Choose from  15, 27, 57, 70, 85 and 102 mile routes!

Texans expect great Texas bike rides and the Smokin’ Spokes is a Texas ride that will leave you well-whipped with a smile on your face at the end of the day.

The city and all Arlington cyclists could use your support for this plan. Planning and Zoning Public Hearing January 19th, 5:30pm. City Council Public Hearing February 8th, 6:30pm. Both meetings are at Arlington City Hall, 101 West Abram Street.

The Hotter’N Hell Hundred Pace Group is the only one of it’s kind – a pace group dedicated to breaking 5 hours for the 100 mile Endurance Ride. New for 2011 we also offering a 3 hour option for the 100k ride.

Ever wondered what it’s like to be Lance Armstrong in the Tour de France peloton? This is your opportunity to experience the royal treatment of an Armstrong, Schleck, or Evans!

Join us for our second year as we ride a controlled pace to help you break the coveted 5-hour mark. To help you in your quest, you will have a premier starting spot at the front of the grid, support motor cycles, and a team of experienced coaches and elite racers leading the way – your own personal domestiques!

Pace Group participants will receive a special edition jersey and professional level support throughout the ride. Training Plans, Training Events, and a Pre-Ride Seminar are included, and you’ll receive special discounts from our partners. See info in the Welcome Letter for more info.

Please note that this is not a “no drop” ride. We will coach, we will cajole and coerce, but ultimately it will be your responsibility to keep up.
Regular Registration Fee
$200 By August 1st for the 100 mile ride
$150 By August 1st for the 100 km ride

Spots are limited, and the event sold out in 2010!
