Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.

Cyclocross Scuffle – Austin, TX

Cyclocross Scuffle

This Sunday at Richard Moya Park beginning at 9:30am. Presented by Team Brain and Spine Cycling. Tech Support provided by  AustinBikes and the Juan Pelota Truck will be onsite selling coffee drinks, breakfast tacos, and sandwiches.

Registration:  Pre-register via BikeReg.  Extra fees apply for BikeReg.  Registration during race day starts at 8AM.  Closes 15 minutes prior to each race.

Entry Fees:  Adults-$25, Juniors-$10, Additional races $10 each.  Parking is free.

License Requirement:  Valid USAC License required to race.  Skill Based CX Categories refer to the CX category listed on your USAC license, not your Road or MTB category.  One-Day and Annual Licenses available.

Equipment Requirements:  Helmet must be worn when on a bike.  Mountain bikes must have bar-ends removed.
Race Numbers:  On the back of your jersey (right-hand side) and the front of your bike.
Course Description:  Good mix of grass, dirt, pavement, and sand.

Directions:  The park location is Richard Moya Park, 9609 Burleson Road, Austin, TX 78719.  From Austin, take I-35 South.  At exit 230, take ramp right for US-290 East / SR-71 East toward Bastrop.  Take ramp right for US-183 South toward Lockhart.  Turn left onto Burleson Road.  Turn south into park at 9609 Burleson Road.  If you reach Moores Bridge Road, you’ve gone too far.
