Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.

Welcome to the survey about the accommodation of bicyclists on state roadways in the Austin District of the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). “Finish Strong at the 2010 LiveStrong Challenge”
Austin LiveStrong Training Rides on October 3rd & 17th
Gate opens @ 7:00am.  All Rides Start at 8:00am.  Support ends at Noon.

Join us in Dripping Springs for an opportunity to ride the same routes used on the LiveStrong Challenge.  This supported ride will start and end at Camp Lucy located west of Dripping Springs on Creek Road.  Get Ready for the LIveStrong in Austin!

All levels encouraged to attend.
Loops will consist of 20, 30, 40 & 55 mile options
* Central Water Stop and Support Vehicle on course
* Drinks & Snacks Post Ride
* Maps & Cue Sheets provided
* Ride Leaders assigned to each loop
Stay to enjoy Post-Ride drinks, snacks and the amazing vistas at Camp Lucy.  Pack a picnic, relax, and experience an amazing retreat in the Texas Hill Country.

Online Registration Closes Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 11:59 PM ET
After your first event, each additional event is just $10!!  BUT you must register for them all at the same time in order for bikereg to take that into account.

Elite National Qualifiers and ATRA National Championship Series Finale

$3,800 Prize-Purse

Prizes:
-There are no prizes for qualifying heats or qualifying races.
-Medals for the top three in each race unless otherwise noted.
-$700 split among the top 4 in the Men’s Sprint and Women’s Sprint
-$700 split among the top 8 in the Men’s Scratch Race, Men’s Keirin, and Madison
-$50 split among the top 3 in the Women Keirin, Women Scratch, Women Points, Men Points, Saturday’s Supersprint, and Prime Race.

Registration and Fees:
• Registration is $20.00 for the 1st event, $10 for additional events. Team events are $40 per team.

* = ATRA National Championship Series Points and Texas Cup Points

Field Minimums & Maximums
• All mass start races have a field maximum of 24 and a minimum of 10 for women and 20 for men unless otherwise noted.
• The men’s Scratch Race and Points Race have a field maximum of 48 and will run two qualifying heats if more than 24 racers are registered
• Team Pursuits & Team Sprints must have a minimum of 4 teams pre-registered and confirmed by the conclusion of racing Saturday night to be run.
• Men’s Team Pursuit consists of 3 or 4 riders, Women’s Team Pursuit consists of 3 riders
• The Madison must have a minimum of 5 teams pre-registered and confirmed by the conclusion of racing Friday night to be run.
• The Keirin must have a minimum of 6 riders to be run.

Notes:
• All riders must hold a current, annual license with USA Cycling.
• Riders must meet Category requirements to race certain events (All events are Cat 1,2,3 except for the Time Trial events which are also open to Cat 4. No category 4 racers in mass start events.)
•Promoters reserve the right to modify payouts if field minimums are not met and adjust the schedule etc. as necessary and if needed.
