Bike MS: Valero 2010 Alamo Ride to the River, presented by H-E-B, is a premiere two-day fundraising, bicycling event. The ride is a fully supported event featuring breakpoints every 8 to 12 miles, SAG vans (Support and Gear) and a scenic route with lots of smooth road surfaces, numerous celebrations throughout the weekend and an indoor air-conditioned finish! Whether you are riding for the first time or for the 21st time, you will enjoy this unique cycling experience.
Fundraising Requirements:Â Each participant is required to pay the registration fee plus the fundraising minimum of $300 by November 10.
Start/Finish Line: Alamodome, San Antonio, TX
Overnight: Comal County Fair Grounds, New Braunfels, TX
Route Options:
Day 1 – 75-mile or 100-mile routes
Day 2 – 60-mile route
The Bike MS: Valero 2010 Alamo Ride to the River, presented by H-E-B will kick-off with an Expo on Friday, October 8 at the Alamodome in San Antonio. The Expo will feature health and wellness vendors, event sponsor, the 2nd Annual Best Team Jersey Contest, the latest cycling products sold by bike shops, and your last chance to pick up your rider packet!
On Saturday, October 9 cyclists will ride along country roads from San Antonio to New Braunfels. Whether you choose the 75-mile route or the 100-mile route on day one, you will enjoy the small town charm of La Vernia, Seguin and Gruene along the route on both days. Participants will enjoy lunch at Texas Lutheran University, sponsored by Arby’s.
Attention Century Riders:Â In keeping with Bike MS tradition, we have added a century loop just for you. The century ride will include a 25-mile loop along River Road from Gruene to Sattler and back.
New Overnight site Comal County Fair Grounds! Celebrate Saturday’s ride accomplishment with hot food, cool drinks and live music. If you are part of a team, check with your team captain to see if your team is part of the San Antonio Express-News Team Village.
On Sunday, October 10 enjoy a hot breakfast to get you in gear for the 60-mile ride back to San Antonio and finish inside the air conditioned Alamodome.
