Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.

Tour of Navidad Valley Ride – Schulenburg, TX

You won’t hear that being said at the Tour of Navidad Valley, where cyclists of all skill levels experience a staggering display of vivid wildflowers amid the fresh air of Fayette County’s rolling farmlands and wondrous Painted Churches. The 2009 Tour takes place on April 4, 2009 in Schulenburg with rides of 20, 40 and 70 miles. Packet pick-up and tour day registration begins at 6:30 a.m.; the rides begin at 8:00 a.m. Your fee will include a lite breakfast provided by the historic Sengelmann Dance Hall, Café and Beer Garden. Sign up and prepare yourself for a day of breathtaking scenery. Or you will miss it.

Distance: 20, 40 and 70 miles. Entry Fee: $30.

March 27th, noon to 6:30 pm at Northwest Cyclery, 17458 Northwest Frwy @ Jones Rd and Saturday March 28th, 11:30 am to 4:30 pm – Day of Ride: at VF Factory Outlet starting at 6:30 am T-shirt, water bottle, and after ride meal to first 1500 registered riders.

$30 until March 14th
$35 thereafter

We promise to provide you with a quality ride whether you are training for that all-important BP MS 150 or just wanting a great day with friends.

$25 until midnight 2/08/08; $30 until midnight 3/08/08; $35 thereafter

B-geo Magnolia Miles – Magnolia, TX

B-GeO Magnolia Miles is an MS150 Recommended bicycle ride with 3 routes through the Magnolia countryside. We listened to your comments from 2008 and noticed which routes were most heavily used. Magnolia is nestled in the Southwest corner of Montgomery County, just Northwest of Houston.

The event will host 3 different routes:

  • Route 1: 23 miles
  • Route 2: 41 miles
  • Route 3: 71 miles
