The Houston Grand Criterium…The Ultimate Urban Race is now in its third year. This unique event will take place in the nation’s fourth largest city along the backdrop of Houston’s distinctive downtown skyline. The event will feature multiple sanctioned races designed for juniors, women, enthusiasts and professionals. There will be a kids race to finish the day off in style!

EVENT SCHEDULE : Sunday May 18, 2008
8:00AM – Racing begins and continues until the Pro, ½ starts at 2:20PM.
4:00 PM – Kid’s race starts (10 and under only)

Trek and Lemond Want Divorce

BikeBiz.com and Velonews.com report Trek and Greg Lemond are suing each other.

BikeBiz.com reports:

Lemond sued Trek saying it promoted Lance Armstrong ahead of his eponymous bike brand; Trek responds in kind.

John Burke, President of Trek Bicycle Corporation, announced that Trek has filed suit in Federal Court in Madison, WI, to sever the company’s ongoing relationship with three-time Tour de France winner Greg LeMond.

“Beginning in 1995 we had high hopes for the LeMond partnership,� said Burke.

“I am sorry it has come to this after so much hard work on the LeMond brand. But this troubling pattern of inconsistent business dealings forced us to do this, for the sake of the Trek family—our retailers, employees and customers.â€?
