About Texbiker.net

Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.

By MALENA OGLES

The pink rubber handles and multicolored streamers blowing out the side made 6-year-old Shellie Milton giggle with excitement. It wasn’t just any bike. It was hers – all hers.

Thirty-six shiny new bicycles of varying colors and sizes were parked inside the Gentry Parkway Youth Center Thursday afternoon awaiting their riders.

Jacob Pugh, 9, takes the training wheels off one of the bicycles at the Gentry Parkway Youth Center on Thursday.

Engadget reports the Cerevellum bike rearview monitor might be a little overkill. Just when you thought there couldn’t be another toy to distract riders this little gadget comes along.
