Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.

17th Annual Missions Tour de Goliad Bike Ride – Goliad, TX

Experience Texas History 1st hand. Rides begin in Historic Downtown Goliad. The 10 mile ride takes you by the Mission Espiritu Santo, Presidio La Bahia, General Zaragosa’s Birthplace, The Angel of Goliad, & to the Fannin Memorial. The 30, 50, 80 mile rides take you thru the rolling hills of the San Antonio River Bottem & by some of the most historic ranchland in Texas. After your ride, take time to experience the Texas Hospitality, & savor the full flavor of the History made in Goliad. $25 until Oct. 13; $35 thereafter

Cannon Express Tour – Gonzales, TX

Welcome to historic Gonzales, where the first shot was fired in the fight for Texas independence. Come enjoy our rich heritage and the beautiful landscapes found where the Guadalupe and San Marcos rivers meet. Rolling hills, oak-strewn fields and winding rivers serve as the backdrop for this unique family ride. Choose from the metric century ride for experienced cyclists, or the short and intermediate 10-, 30- and 36-mile tours.

Individual Riders: $20.00
Riders 14 & Under: $15.00
Tandem Entries: $35.00

CITGO Conquer the Coastâ„¢ – Corpus Christi, TX

The 4th Annual CITGO Conquer the Coast â„¢ ride takes cyclists on a tour of the beautiful Corpus Christi coast. Join us on September 29, 2007 for a 25-mile cruise ride or a 65-mile ride with music and festivities. The 65-mile cyclists have an opportunity to compete in the Toughest 18-miles in Texas Time Trial along their route. CITGO Conquer the Coast â„¢ is a training ride for the Valero MS-150.

25 – Mile Cruise: $30.00
65 – Mile Ride: $40.00
65 + Time Trial – Mile Ride: $50.00
