About Texbiker.net

Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.

Tour de Muleshoe – Muleshoe, TX

Texbiker.net Posted on May 13, 2007 by Rick AnkrumMay 13, 2007

The Thirteenth Annual Heritage Foundation Tour de Muleshoe rolls along scenic farmland and sandhills for you to ride either fast or slow as you choose. This is not a race– enjoy yourself. Each entry will receive a ticket to our Spaghetti Dinner, 11:30 am to 2:00 pm Saturday.

All three rides start at the Bailey County Coliseum, 2206 W American Blvd, Muleshoe, Texas, at 9:00 a.m. and follow a triangle course: the 10 mile is flat with good shoulders, one rest stop at halfway; the 40 mile begins with small rolling hills for the first 10 miles, followed by 12 miles of scenic sandhills, ending in 18 miles of small smooth ups and downs; the 100k follows similar road conditions for longer distances, all end back in Muleshoe at the starting line.
