Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.

Tour Dallas – Dallas, TX

On Saturday, April 7, 2007, thousands of cyclists will ride out from the American Airlines Center on a two-wheeled urban adventure called Tour Dallas. Bring your family, friends and co-workers. This is one bike ride that you will not want to miss.

Finish Line Celebration
Join us in the battle against inactivity and ride for victory! All Tour Dallas routes will finish at the American Airlines Center – with views of The W Hotel and the Dallas skyline. We’ll have music from Beatlegras and fun-filled entertainment surrounded by information about the sites of Dallas, other cycling events, refreshments and snacks.

2007 EASTER HILL COUNTRY TOUR – Kerrville, TX

The Houston Bicycle Club welcomes you to the 34th Annual Easter Hill Country Tour. Since 1974, the tour has been sponsored in rotation by the Houston Bicycle Club, the Lubbock Bicycle Club, the Fort Worth Cycling Association and the San Antonio Wheelmen. The event has become noted as one of the premier cycling events in Texas. This year the tour will be held from April 6th thru April 8th.

Ride for R.O.C.K. – Georgetown, TX

This second annual bike ride features 10-mile, 35-mile and 60-mile loop courses throughout Williamson County. Registrations are $25 if postmarked by March 12 and $35 thereafter or registration can be submitted online at active.com. A course map and registration form are available from the ROCK Forms webpage. EDUCATION EXPEDITION Bike Ride – Sugar Land, TX

The Education Foundation Ride begins at Austin High School and winds throughout quiet streets and into the countryside, before looping back home. The routes are new this year and designed to minimize busy intersections while providing a smooth and scenic ride. The two routes provide riders with a build-your-own route between 36 and 75 miles. The ride is a BP MS 150 recommended ride. Water Stations are staffed by volunteers, from local schools and churches, vying for the Best Water Station award. Be prepared to be entertained along this route!
