I don’t know who started using this term first, but the video channel calls a ride or trail that is "slow, unforgiving and brutal on the body" a nadge. I’ll take it. this is always my favorite stuff to ride. I know of a few good segments in SATN that are this kind of fun, and I feel like most of BCGB has these qualities. what are you favorite nadge trails, spots, and segments in Austin?

Great spot for a ride. The best time to visit Fair Park Dallas is when there's no State Fair. We do a lot of night rides here. Shhhhh! Don't tell anyone. There is never a crowd. @woombikesUSApic.twitter.com/RpsJdCzhVE

Starting a new week after a day off the bike yesterday. I managed to start today’s bike ride at 10:23 AM riding the Lynskey R300. I chose the “New Caney – Roman Forest – Valley Ranch” route. Today the route covered 41.63 miles pushing my June total to 484.81 miles or 61% of the way to my 800 mile goal. This was the 4th time riding this route in 2020 evenly split between the Lynskey R300 and the Canyon Endurace bikes. Today’s distance was around the average for the 4 rides.
Last week’s weather was superb for biking and today kind of held that theme but the blue sky is now sharing its real estate with some clouds. Weather during the bike ride: start 90 (66% humidity, 77.1 dew point), partly cloudy, wind E 5 mph. Finish 92 (58% humidity, 75.5 dew point), partly cloudy, wind E 10 mph. I wore the CamelBak and enjoyed cold water during the ride up to the 1:44 PM finish.
I don’t usually encounter “hot foot” during a ride but today my right foot suffered that malady. When I ride the Lynskey I wear a pair of Shimano shoes which fit tighter than the Sidi shoes I use biking on the Canyon Endurace. The pedals are different on the bikes and require different cleats.
The new Akaso V50X camera arrived while I was biking. I will check it out and plan on using it on tomorrow’s ride.
Nearly two dozen bicyclists set off on a 60-mile journey from Galveston Sunday morning, retracing the footsteps of newly freed slaves who moved to Houston in the years following the Civil War.
In January, U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee and U.S. Sen. John Cornyn authored a bill asking for a federal study of the Emancipation Trail, a 51-mile path from Galveston to Houston undertaken by black families to announce that federal officials had ordered enslaved people in Texas to be free. It would be just the second National Historic Trail honoring African American history in …

Bike rides help my mood these days. These 32 miles made me 😀: 8 miles good bike lanes 8.5 miles bikeways in construction 9.5 miles trails 0.6 miles in design 0.9 miles COH slow streets 4.4 miles no bikeway (but I have ideas)https://t.co/HgnV05OMjPpic.twitter.com/ioS41O5A96
Today is a special day as we embark on the Emancipation Trail Bike Ride in remembrance of #Juneteenth. The trail is 51 miles from Galveston to Houston and was used as a migration route by freed slaves in the 19th century. We’ll share more of our journey soon. pic.twitter.com/4ogM5xfNwy

Up until today I biked every day in June. I decided to take a rest day and start next week with rested legs. This week marks the 10th in a row of 200+ miles. June mileage stands at 443.18, 55% of the way to my 800 mile goal.
My bikes, Canyon Endurace and Lynskey R300, carried me 3,882 miles so far this year. My Blue Norcross AL bike, mounted on a Wahoo Snap smart trainer added 542 miles as I rode in Zwift. Zwift is on hold for the summer but will return in the fall. I noticed the tires on the Blue bike softened in my absence, time to air them up.
Road construction challenges my biking with several routes not suitable for biking. Soon FM 2100 construction will interfere with a route I use every week. I may need to drive to starting spots like I did last Friday in Galveston.
My YouTube channel contains clips from my bike rides. Subscribers are few but I enjoy creating the videos after completing rides. Sometimes the video shows scenes I did not notice while on the bike. I like looking in the background for surprises. My GoPro Hero7 Black takes great video but the camera freezes at unpredictable times. Hopefully I can find a solution. I bought a cheap action camera (Akaso V50X 7000) on Amazon to see if it is more reliable. For awhile I struggled getting good audio in the video but the GoPro mic adapter solved that in combination with a lapel mic. Video production on a moving studio can be interesting. I did find out that the GoPro can survive a fall from my bike. Next the Akaso arrives and I will put it to the test. Last week I moved the GoPro from my helmet to the handlebars of the Canyon and Lynskey. This lowered the weight on my head and neck and the camera angle.
