Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.

College Station Council Wants An Update On New Rental Bicycle Regulations

Three and a half months after the College Station city council began regulating rental bicycles that leave the Texas A&M campus, the city council wants to revisit the issue.

Cyclists Circle the Alamo in Third Annual Red Bull Last Stand Race

On Saturday, crowds cheered on the more than 200 riders who circled the Alamo as the Red Bull Last Stand bike race returned to San Antonio for its third year.

Riders with Texas ties won two out of the four events, which drew competitors from all over the country. The race is a criterium, or “crit” race, in which road bike riders circle multiple laps on a closed circuit, sometimes reaching speeds of up to 40 miles per hour. …

A local family is seeking answers after their 19-year-old son was the victim of an apparent hit and run while riding his bicycle home early Friday morning.
