Grand Texas Shows Signs of Life

Texbiker.net Posted on July 17, 2015 by Rick AnkrumJuly 17, 2015

I rode the “SR242 – FM1314” route for the second time this year. I have avoided this route due to the Grand Parkway overpass construction on FM1314. I rode through the work zone again today without any problem. The 2/10’s … Continue reading →

A View of Hay Bales At The Top

Texbiker.net Posted on July 15, 2015 by Rick AnkrumJuly 15, 2015

I waffled back and forth on today’s route. I didn’t make up my mind until the last opportunity to turn onto Fairlake Drive. I opted to ride “FM1960 to FM686 – Back” for the miles and straight road. It was … Continue reading →

A Short 30 Foot Incline But Nothing Like the Tour

Texbiker.net Posted on July 14, 2015 by Rick AnkrumJuly 14, 2015

After watching stage 10 of the Tour I left home (11:04) to ride a much flatter “Atascocita – Walden – Huffman” terrain. Nothing approaching 10% incline on this ride. I think the steepest incline was the 30 feet of greenbelt … Continue reading →

New Caney – Gene Campbell Road 3rd Time This Year

Texbiker.net Posted on July 13, 2015 by Rick AnkrumJuly 13, 2015

No Tour today so I left home at 9:55 biking “New Caney – Gene Campbell Road” to the north. Being Monday traffic was lighter than some other days. Riding from FM1485 to FM1314, about 5 miles, only 4 cars passed … Continue reading →

About Texbiker.net

Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.
