Texbiker.net Posted on October 9, 2015 by Rick AnkrumOctober 9, 2015

There is something about riding in the late afternoon. By then the day is mature and the weather more predictable. Today I left home at 2:29. I adjusted my route some to get around school dismal. As I passed each … Continue reading →

Timing Is Important When Biking

Texbiker.net Posted on October 7, 2015 by Rick AnkrumOctober 7, 2015

I took a side trip from my usual “FM1960 to FM686 – Back” route to stop at the Dollar General store on FM2100 north of FM1960. Several months ago when I was at the Huffman Chevron a couple of other … Continue reading →

The great biking weather is still hanging around. I started the ride at 12:59 with the sky almost completely blue and 76 degrees. With the sun out it didn’t feel that cool and riding through the shade wasn’t cool like … Continue reading →

Oakhurst – Valley Ranch For The Legs

Texbiker.net Posted on October 4, 2015 by Rick AnkrumOctober 4, 2015

I decided to take some Advil when I got up this morning as a result of yesterday’s 41+ mile ride. I needed just 24 miles to reach 100 for the shortened riding week so I picked a northerly route: “Oakhurst … Continue reading →

About Texbiker.net

Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.
