Texbiker.net Posted on October 24, 2021 by Rick AnkrumOctober 24, 2021

I got distract when I started today’s bike ride and left my CamelBak at home. I realized it about a mile into the ride and circled back to get it. The afternoon sun warmed the temperature into the mid 80’s. … Continue reading →

Where Did The Wind Come From? I Liked The Other Option

Texbiker.net Posted on October 10, 2021 by Rick AnkrumOctober 10, 2021

The light winds left and so did the blue sky. I rode around Kingwood Streets for today’s bike ride starting at 1:39 PM and finishing at 3:27 PM. At times fighting the wind affirmed my choice of staying close. I … Continue reading →

Some Heat Followed By Rain On Kingwood Streets Ride

Texbiker.net Posted on August 8, 2021 by Rick AnkrumAugust 8, 2021

The bike ride began at 1:35 PM with many clouds in the sky. Some of them looked wet but since it wasn’t raining I rode away on my Lynskey R300 bike. With the late start the route was a combination … Continue reading →

About Texbiker.net

Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.
