Texbiker.net Posted on July 11, 2021 by Rick AnkrumJuly 11, 2021

With all of the rain this week I needed 30 miles for a 200 mile week. Scratching my head for a different route I put together a bunch of streets I don’t think I biked before in this combination. I … Continue reading →

No Singing While Biking In The Rain

Texbiker.net Posted on July 8, 2021 by Rick AnkrumJuly 8, 2021

I aired up the tires on my Lynskey R300 bike before starting today’s bike ride. To get an earlier start I didn’t watch the Tour de France. Wheels rolled away at 9:54 AM as I began the “Atascocita – Walden … Continue reading →

Punched The Weather Forecast, It Punched Back

Texbiker.net Posted on July 5, 2021 by Rick AnkrumJuly 5, 2021

After two days of no rain when the forecast said it was going to I must’ve scoffed at the rain forecast today. I paid the price after I started the bike ride at 9:59 AM. Since yesterday’s bike ride I … Continue reading →

Pump Side Chats On FM 1314 With 100 Degree Heat Index

Texbiker.net Posted on July 2, 2021 by Rick AnkrumJuly 2, 2021

A little earlier start for today’s bike ride at 10:41 AM. I chose a northerly route on what I call “New Caney – Gene Campbell Road” route. After biking through Kingwood the route heads north along the I-69/US59 frontage road … Continue reading →

About Texbiker.net

Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.
