August Coolness While Biking to Roman Forest

Texbiker.net Posted on August 13, 2014 by Rick AnkrumAugust 13, 2014

When I started the ride today I could feel the difference in the air temperature. The promised “cool” front must have arrived. It was pleasant to ride with a wind that was not searing hot. By the time I got … Continue reading →

A Soft Rear Tire, Missed Time Goal

Texbiker.net Posted on August 8, 2014 by Rick AnkrumAugust 8, 2014

I just thought I would get started riding before 10 AM this morning. I was dressed and ready to go at 9:40 but when I got to the garage and did my usual pre-ride tire squeeze the rear tire felt … Continue reading →

[wppa][/wppa] %%slide=375%% %%size=auto%% While I was biking today I was thinking that this route must be burned into my mind. The reason is that I now know where many of the road blemishes are and swerve around them without too … Continue reading →

Gigantic Concrete I-Beams

Texbiker.net Posted on July 9, 2014 by Rick AnkrumJuly 9, 2014

Going north today I went to New Caney, Roman Forest and Valley Ranch. The weather was warm and sunny when I left at 10:10. 83 degrees (89% humidity) and almost non-existent breeze did not help any. As long as I … Continue reading →

About Texbiker.net

Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.
