The debate over whether to require Austin bicyclists to wear helmets is being revived.<\/p>\n
Mayor Will Wynn and local medical leaders announced Wednesday that Brackenridge Hospital and St. David’s HealthCare will conduct a yearlong study on head injuries from bike accidents starting Nov. 1.<\/p>\n
They’ll report the findings to the City Council, which considered an ordinance to require bike-helmet use in August but never voted on it. The idea drew staunch opposition from some cyclists.<\/p>\n
