Today was an afternoon ride. I was embroiled in a computer problem so I did not get to start earlier which was okay because the weather has moderated. The mostly cloudy skies kept the sun from getting too warm and the temperature was quite acceptable: 83 at the start (54% humidity) and 90 at the end (41% humidity). I think the hot days are behind us until next year. This was one of those rides where the wind (5mph NW) did not seem to matter. I don’t know if it was the direction I was riding or I just had good legs today. This is reflected in my good 15.5 mph average speed with a max speed of 20.5 mph. Average cadence jumped up to 83.5 RPM. The 28.73 miles<\/strong> flowed smoothly. October mileage status: month to date is 267.84<\/strong>, year to date is 4509.18<\/strong>. There is a cool front later this week so I may need to break out some cool gear.<\/p>\n
