Forget the spandex shorts, yellow jersey and colorful helmet. This blue-collar biker on his daily commute does just fine wearing cotton and a cap. Dodging dogs, broken glass and sometimes road kill, he travels 26 miles, four days a week, riding a plain, black mountain bike.<\/p>\n
Sometime last spring, Thomas Hill pledged to his co-workers he would buy a bicycle and ride it to work when gas hit $3.50 per gallon. That day soon came, and he shunned his Ford Ranger pickup for a two-wheeler.<\/p>\n
