Some of the quotes from drivers makes you think there is a war out there on the roads. While I have had incidents with drivers they are few and far between. Reading the Cycling Notebook makes me wonder if I am in denial.<\/p>\n<p>For instance, from Dale&#8217;s column:<\/p>\n<p>Jim Meader, a commercial contractor, civic activist and \u00e2\u20ac\u0153admitted redneck car guy\u00e2\u20ac\u009d in Pattison, said he and his fellow citizens are \u00e2\u20ac\u0153flat fed up\u00e2\u20ac\u009d with cyclists who \u00e2\u20ac\u0153clog our roads, shut down commerce, violate private property, use our school campuses without permission, overtax our emergency services, cause the elderly undue stress\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and, in short, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153act like they own the damn place.<\/p>\n<p>I am glad I have not met Jim while I am riding!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s Houston Chronicle includes Dale Robertson&#8217;s Cycling Notebook.
