A whistle screeched about 10:40 a.m. Saturday as Edward Solis of San Antonio whirred across the finish line at the fifth annual NuStar Conquer the Coast bicycle race.<\/p>\n
“I took some chances, and it worked out,” said Solis, 39, after slipping his finisher’s medal for the 65-mile ride over his helmet before dismounting his bike. “The last 10 miles were pretty challenging.”<\/p>\n
