Partly because he is so knowledgeable and entertaining but also because he is such an inspiration to so many in our community. I won&#8217;t share his secrets but George aka: GJD races in the 50+ category because that is generally as high as they go.<\/p>\n<p>But George is an incredible mountain biker, strong and fearless and he stays young at heart by hammering the trails and showing all the youngin&#8217;s how it should be done. George introduced the sport to his grandchildren and they are obviously following in his footsteps towards the podiums. It also provided a unique and productive chance for&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"http:\/\/www.bicycle.net\/2012\/texas-motor-speedway-paceline-winter-training-update#comment-142478\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bicycle.net\/2012\/texas-motor-speedway-paceline-winter-training-update#comment-142478\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Texas Motor Speedway Paceline \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Winter training update<\/strong><\/span><\/a><br \/>\nwww.bicycle.net<br \/>\nJust got back from an hour of unintentional interval training that was supposed to have been a fast group-ride with me tucked safely out of the wind.\u00c2\u00a0 Minor difference.<\/p>\n<p>But it had turned windy this afternoon \u00e2\u20ac\u201d surprise!\u00c2\u00a0 By rush-hour flags were starched stiff against the sky, and I wasn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t even sure it made sense to ride.\u00c2\u00a0 Owning an indoor spin bike tends to make one wimpy about going out in wet, cold, or windy.\u00c2\u00a0 I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m not proud about it.<\/p>\n<p>But when it came to the prospect of spinning inside on an awfully pretty evening, I sucked it up and headed to Texas Motor Speedway in north Fort&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"http:\/\/www.bikedfw.org\/index.php?option=com_content&amp;view=article&amp;id=160:dallas-bicycle-cafe-most-bike-freiendly-business-in-texas&amp;catid=25:front-page-news\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bikedfw.org\/index.php?option=com_content&amp;view=article&amp;id=160:dallas-bicycle-cafe-most-bike-freiendly-business-in-texas&amp;catid=25:front-page-news\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Dallas Bicycle Cafe&#8230; the most bike friendly business in Texas?<\/strong><\/span><\/a><br \/>\nBy Marc Mumby\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0BikeDFW<br \/>\n<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bikedfw.org\/uploads\/frntpg_photos\/2012-02\/IMG_3881.jpg?resize=480%2C600\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"600\" \/><br \/>\nIf you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve ridden, run, or walked the White Rock Creek Trail in the last few months, you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve probably noticed the gradual conversion of an old Lake Highlands liquor store at the Northwest Highway and West Lawther intersection into a super bike friendly caf\u00c3\u00a9.<\/p>\n<p>The Dallas Bicycle Caf\u00c3\u00a9 opened on Februrary 4th. I sat down with owner Armando Guerroro last Sunday to find out more.<\/p>\n<p>The first thing you notice, in case you haven\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t guessed from the furniture built with bicycle parts, is that Mr. Guerrero is a huge fan of cycling, running, and healthy lifestyles. I was bugging him mercilessly about swag from Frostbike and he relented, loaning me a bran new pair of Michelin Pro4 Service Course tires to ride and review\u00e2\u20ac\u201dbut not to keep. Needing every ounce of help I could get for this past weekend\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s races, I decided \u00e2\u20ac\u0153no time like the present\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and quickly mounted the new tires.<\/p>\n<p>Michelin\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Pro 4 is actually not a single tire model, rather an umbrella name for a family of tires. The Pro4 Endurance replaces what was know as the Krylion and is designed for longevity and puncture resistance\u00e2\u20ac\u201da true training tire. The Pro4 Service Course that I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m riding is most directly comparable to the Pro3, which it replaces. It describes wind and occasional rain\/cold.
