The finally stopped long enough to go biking. Last year’s drought could be a distant memory if the rain keeps up this pace at least in the southeast Texas rainforest. Some other parts of the state still need more rain though. I cannot remember my front yard grass as green and lush as I see it now. If the sun ever shines the grass will probably grow super fast. That aside today’s bike ride erases the biking drought since last Tuesday. I settled for watching Paris-Nice and Tirreno \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Adriatico bike races in Europe on the internet. Yesterday the scene in the closing kilometers of Tirreno \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Adriatico showed banks of snow three or four feet tall yet the racers wore their summer kits.<\/p>\n

Today I thought it would stay at 69 degrees so I dressed warm with two long sleeve jerseys. Between the time I got dressed and walked out the door (10 minutes) the sky went from overcast to small patches of blue with sun. The temperature rose to 73 when I started and ended up at 77 by the finish. Wind from the southwest at 8 mph move the humid air around some. You can see below in my home weather station the 74% humidity.<\/p>\n

My slightly modified route resulted in 30.68 miles (SportTracks calculation). Other statistics: 15.5 mph average speed, 26.7 mph max speed, 82.4 RPM average cadence.
