No biking for the last two days with all of the rain. Flood watch and alerts now punctuate the weather. Maybe on Friday I can get back on the road.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"http:\/\/www.biketexas.org\/en\/news\/community\/1296-buffalo-soldiers-national-museum-hosts-annual-ride\" href=\"http:\/\/www.biketexas.org\/en\/news\/community\/1296-buffalo-soldiers-national-museum-hosts-annual-ride\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Buffalo Soldiers National Museum Hosts Annual Ride<\/strong><\/span><\/a><br \/>\nBikeTexas.org<br \/>\n<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.biketexas.org\/images\/stories\/bikenews\/community\/2012_community\/Buffalo%2520Soldiers.jpeg?resize=500%2C332\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" \/><br \/>\nA hot and muggy Houston day did not deter the approximately 100 riders who came out for the 3rd Buffalo Soldiers National Museum ride on June 24. The ride is an annual fundraiser for the museum and began at what will be the museum\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s new location in a 1920s-era armory on Caroline Street. The armory has been vacant for many years, and the Buffalo Soldier Association says that they feel&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"http:\/\/forums.mtbr.com\/texas\/boulder-park-dallas-800718.html\" href=\"http:\/\/forums.mtbr.com\/texas\/boulder-park-dallas-800718.html\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Boulder Park (Dallas)<\/strong><\/span><\/a><br \/>\nby DaggerK1\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0forums.mtbr.com<br \/>\nI was up from Houston for business and took the opportunity to ride at Boulder Park Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon. Those are really well made, designed, and fun trails. I especially enjoyed the Cash Extension with the fast dips and climbs. Being a flat-lander some of the climbs on the red trails hurt a bit, but I made it up all of them except a real rooty, steep, off camber climb on C. Huge kudos to DORBA for building and maintaining those trails. A few questions.<\/p>\n<p>I know that&#8217;s not the best part of town. Have there been any issues with vehicle break-ins? From May 1 through August 31 they\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re trying to get as many riders as they can to ride 10 million miles. They\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re also doing regional challenges, putting small teams of 10 riders in friendly competition with each other for points and miles.<\/p>\n<p>Bike Friendly Richardson has a team and we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re doing quite well in our region. They cultivate the next generation to lead the fight against cancer through their cornerstone event, a more than 4,000-mile bike ride from Austin to Anchorage.<\/p>\n<p>Paul\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Bicycle Way of Life joined GEARs in welcoming the 2012 LIVESTRONG Texas 4000 on July 9 as their route came through Eugene for the first time in the ride\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s history.
