Dr Gale was generous enough to allow me to borrow one of his vehicles. So I drove my bike to Velocity Bike Shop to get my front wheel\/spoke repaired and to buy some extra tubes. I dont generally like to endorse or promote a business, but I have to admit that Velocity REALLY REALLY did a great job with their repairs and parts. The repair was done quickly as I waited. If you ever need bike parts or repairs in the Lubbock area, you should really consider checking them out. They are located on 50th street.<\/p>\n
After the repair and parts, I decided to check the weather forecast for the next couple of days. Today, there was some light rain in the area and potentially heavy rain and thunderstorms was predicted for tomorrow. I called up Dr. Gale to see if we could meet up for lunch. During lunch i mentioned to him that i was considering canceling my scheduled break day and trying to get some miles in this afternoon. We had planned that we would spend the afternoon touring the Texas Tech Engineering Department. But with tomorrow looking like a potential rain-out day, I didn’t want to have two days in a row with no miles. So regrettably, I cancelled the afternoon plans and got back on the road by mid afternoon.
