Cyclocross enjoys banner year throughout region<\/strong><\/span><\/a>

\nSAN ANGELO, Texas \u00e2\u20ac\u201d The 2012-2013 cyclocross season is winding down, with only a few races remaining on the calendar.<\/p>\n

It’s been a banner year for cyclocross both in Texas and across the United States.<\/p>\n

At the local level, over 50 cyclists took part in this year’s San Angelo CX series that was held on the campus of Angelo State University. Many of the participants were new to the sport, which bodes well for the future.<\/p>\n

Other West Texas locations such as Abilene, Lubbock and Amarillo have hosted similar…<\/p>\n

January<\/strong><\/span><\/a>

\nJanuary has traditionally been a slow month for me and cycling, Cold, wet weather doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t appeal to me. I usually end up riding only on the weekends where I can utilized the warmth of the sun to it its maximum.<\/p>\n

I was hoping to get the Wahoo Fitness KICKR PowerTrainer to use indoors after work but as of yet it is still not available. Rumors are that it wont be available until March! By then why bother. Not much info about it other than it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s power based trainer and you have to take your rear wheel off and attach it. I was looking forward to crank out some good intervals…<\/p>\n

\nCyclists are invited to participate in Comanche Cross Saturday at McKinney Park, 625 West Pool Road.<\/p>\n

Registration for the West Texas CX SeriesKids begins at noon and the races begin at 1 p.m. The event is open to cyclists from beginners to advanced.

2013 Kick-off<\/strong><\/span><\/a>

\nNeilson DEVO is excited about kicking off the 2013 racing season. The team’s new kits have arrived and we are glad to be representing our team and making our presence known. Our first race will be at the Miles of DisComfort marathon at Flat Rock Ranch in Comfort, TX. Richard, Patrick and Justin will be racing the half marathon, and Andrew will be racing the full distance. Be on the lookout for results and race reports soon. We will also be making trips to several TMBRA cross-country races throughout the year. Stay tuned for more news and weekly DEVO tips on better riding and racing.<\/p>\n
