When I first started today’s ride I thought I might be overdressed. I wore a slightly heavier Descent jacket with a long sleeve jersey and leg warmers. As long as the sun was not covered up by the clouds I was a little warmer than I was yesterday. Once the sky became overcast I changed my mind about my clothes selection and stayed comfortable until the end. I left home 1:52 with the temperature at 71 ad when I got back home at 3:53 it dropped to 69 so no wonder I felt somewhat cooler. Speaking of cool, about 2 miles from home I saw three pre-teen girls out in a front yard in their swimsuits dancing around. They had beach towels out so I guess they were taking advantage of the school holiday. While I was bundled up they were not. Maybe they are immune to cool weather.<\/p>\n
The route today mostly repeated the one from last Saturday when I went north to Community Drive and then through Valley Ranch subdivision on the west side of US59. Even with a few alterations the mileage ended up about the same at 28.18<\/strong>. My average speed went down from yesterday to 14.8 mph while had a top speed of 21.3 mph. January mileage increased to 150.57<\/strong>, 117 from my goal. I have not rode 4 days in a row since December 6 through 9th. No other bicyclists spotted today.<\/p>\n I was almost home ( a tenth of mile to go) when a “stray” Beagle decided to tag along and then turned aggressive wanting to do something like bite me. I had to stop at an intersection and he stopped behind me and when I started back up he resumed the chase following me into my driveway. When got off the bike he stayed back some and after I put my bike in the garage I told him to git and he ran off. Maybe I should’ve yelled that when he was chasing me.<\/p>\n Tomorrow’s weather is forecast to be slightly cooler.
