Who says its over 40 days until spring officially arrives? You wouldn’t know it from the weather today. After the rain yesterday today turned around once the early morning fog burned off. I started the ride today at 12:45 and finished at 3:37. During the ride mostly cloudy skies meant the sun floated in and out but the temperature didn’t ranging from 76 at the start to 79 when I finished. In Huffman I saw two different time and temperature boards with different temperatures: Action Sign said 75 and Huffman ISD said 78. No stray rain clouds on the radar today to dodge. Tomorrow probably will be wet with a 70% of precipitation.<\/p>\n
Since I only managed 12.8 miles yesterday and with the rain coming tomorrow I wanted to get some extra miles from this ride towards the monthly goal of 369 miles to match February 2012. So I stretched my normal route to Huffman by adding a mile to the start and then adding 2 or 3 miles in Huffman by going north on FM2100 turning left onto Smith Road to get back to FM1960. This increased the route to 35.18 miles<\/strong>. The spring like weather helped me average 15.7 mph. I saw one other bicyclist on Kings River Drive on the return to home.
