Before I walked out the door I went back for a short sleeve jersey to add to my long sleeve one. That was a good move because the 13 mph ESE wind added some chill to the 73 degrees. While some clouds moved around no rain fell and I made it home dry (at least from rain). You can see the approaching rain in the slide below. Yesterday the forecast looked like today could be a rain day. I started later than usual at 2:31 after doing some chores. Being retired is not free of things to do. Tomorrow looks like rain with a 60% chance. We need the rain.<\/p>\n<p>I decided to ride north to Community Drive partly because I have been caught by rain several times when I rode my south and east route. For some reason Lake Houston attracts rain more often than north of the San Jacinto River. Between the wind and some tired legs I averaged 14.6 mph over the <strong>28.21 mile<\/strong> route. April mileage increases to <strong>58.27<\/strong> and <strong>1372.91 miles<\/strong> year to date.
